Jonathan Nelson Signs With Tyscot Records

Gospel worship leader Jonathan Nelson has signed a new recording deal with Tyscot Records, joining the label’s Tyscot Worship imprint as the iconic gospel company approaches its 50th anniversary.
As a Stellar Award–winning and Dove Award–nominated artist, Nelson is widely recognized for shaping the modern praise and worship sound. The new agreement follows with the completion of his first album of all-new material since 2018’s Declarations, with a lead radio single expected to impact gospel radio in spring 2026.
Nelson said the partnership reflects a shared vision and long-standing mutual respect, marking a new creative season rooted in worship and congregational connection.
Tyscot Records President Bryant Scott noted that discussions about working together began years ago stating, “Jonathan and I started this conversation years ago while riding in a van on a Caribbean island,” and emphasized the importance of timing and purpose in bringing the collaboration to fruition.
With more than 227 million digital streams, Nelson has remained a consistent presence in gospel music for nearly two decades and currently serves as Director of Worship and Arts at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, where Rev. Jamal Bryant is pastor.
His catalog includes worship staples such as “My Name Is Victory,” “I Believe (Island Medley),” “Expect the Great,” “Anything Can Happen,” “Finish Strong,” and “Baba Oh.” These songs that continue to resonate across churches, playlists, and live worship moments. Supporters and fans are already weighing in online, naming the tracks that defined their worship journey, and expressing excitement for the new project.
